Description
Group Management Services (GMS) is seeking to hire a full time Payroll Tax Manager for the Richfield, OH office.
 
Summary:           

Handle day-to-day payroll tax activity as it relates to accounting and finance.  May also be asked to assist with completion of quarter and year-end filings, reports, reconciliation, and financial audits.  Responsible for managing occasional correspondence regarding state and local tax agencies including payments and notice resolution. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
 
  • Assist Benefits department with electronic filing of forms 1094 & 1095
  • Responsible for researching all uncashed checks and non-cleared ACH (monthly)
  • Backup for morning tax import and daily tax payments
  • Responsible for providing Controller with a weekly balancing report of tax payments
  • Assist A/R and A/P with various reporting and administration
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed by Controller or CFO
  • Assist Compliance department with record keeping for all non-Ohio COI's
  • Assist with Business license renewals outside of Ohio
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
 
 
  • Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to interact effectively and present information in both written and oral form with management, clients, staff, vendors, etc.  
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 
  • Computer Skills - .Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce or a similar CRM experience preferred.
  • Other Qualifications - Must be available for extended hours during key tax periods (quarter/year-end).  May not take more than two consecutive days off in January, April, July & October without approval.
