Summary: The Youth Development Director works closely with the Executive Director to develop and coordinate out of school time educational and enrichment programs a number of neighborhood locations. The BPDC Youth Development Director is responsible for the management and administration of agency youth programs and services in the West Park MyCom neighborhood.

The BPDC Youth Development Director is responsible for the management and administration of agency youth programs and services in the West Park MyCom neighborhood.
Responsibilities:
- Management of a variety of youth programs in the neighborhoods.
- Work with Executive Director to develop a budget for youth and literacy programming and track all expenses associated with the program
- Prepare monthly program reports for the Agency and with Executive Director
- Identify program development needs and work with Executive Director to create strategies for incorporation into agency plans.
- Coordinate monthly meetings with a Neighborhood Youth Mobilization Team.
- Promote agency youth services and provide related information to all local youth serving and social service agencies, service organizations, local schools, and institutions throughout West Park.
- Supervise and coordinate work of the Youth Development Team - staff, interns, program partners and volunteers. Maintain current job descriptions for these paid and volunteer positions.
- Manage the literacy and technology-related programming for both adults and young people, in coordination with the computer center staff.
- Manage and coordinate Program Partners/Vendors (identify, schedule, contract, evaluate work, keep database)
- Work in collaborative partnership with other BPDC staff members in school and community engagement activities; in programming that benefits area youth in general; in referrals; and in assisting families and children with particular situations / needs / issues.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must have a B.A. in Education/Youth Development or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have 5 years of experience and knowledge working in a community based setting
- Must have ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner
- Must have excellent communication skills
