Diesel Mechanic
$500 Sign on Bonus and $1,000 after 90 days!

Asphalt Services of Ohio, has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic. This is a full time year-round position and pay will be based on experience.

Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Inspect and diagnose vehicles and construction equipment using diagnostic testing equipment to determine appropriate repairs.
• Perform regular routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, adjusting brakes, changing tires and lubricating equipment on trucks and construction equipment.
• Remove and replace components such as brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, drive train components, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, hydraulics and other important parts to ensure that vehicles are in proper operating condition
• Document all equipment/vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Willingness to participate in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
• Ability to make repairs correctly with minimal call-backs
• Maintain the cleanliness of all construction equipment, vehicles, tools and shop area

Requirements:

• Must have your own tools
• Have a valid driver’s license and clean record
• Two or more years of diesel and / or construction equipment experience
• High school or post-secondary training in automotive and/or diesel engine repair or equivalent on-the-job training
• Ability to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
