Connect Housing Blocks is currently searching for a full-time Logistics Director to join their team in Columbus, Ohio.  We are revolutionizing the housing industry, manufacturing multi-story, prefabricated modular apartment housing in Columbus, Ohio, by providing high-quality affordable housing. The Logistics Director is responsible for overseeing the logistics operations, including materials ordering and forecasting, transportation, and inventory management. The role involves developing and maintaining efficient processes and procedures to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and products.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4 PM
  • In office

The right candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, materials ordering, inventory management, and forecasting techniques
  • Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with vendors, management, and team members in English
  • Ability to apply general mathematical concepts such as percentages, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication to practical situations

Our Logistics Director will:

  • Oversee the daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
  • Create and maintain standardized logistics processes and procedures utilizing data to improve operational efficiency and consistency
  • Lead the materials procurement process, ensuring timely and accurate ordering of raw materials and supplies
  • Develop forecasting models to anticipate material needs based on production schedules.
  • Work closely with suppliers to manage lead times and maintain adequate stock levels, preventing production disruptions
  • Continuously evaluate and improve logistics workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and process enhancements
  • Oversee inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory
  • Monitor inventory data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve accuracy, and reduce waste
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Provide training and support to team members on logistics processes, systems, and best practices
  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics, cost analysis, and process improvements
