Connect Housing Blocks is currently searching for a full-time Equipment Engineer to join their team in Columbus, Ohio.  We are revolutionizing the housing industry, manufacturing multi-story, prefabricated modular apartment housing in Columbus, Ohio, by providing high-quality affordable housing. The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer is responsible for the technical oversight and documentation of all equipment in the facility including process definition, reliability, safety, throughput, maintenance, training of operators.

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4 PM
  • In office

The right candidate will have:

  • 5+ years serving as equipment engineer at a manufacturing facility
  • Associates degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering or technical field required. Bachelors preferred.
  • Experience with some or all of the following equipment: roll formers, CNCs, robotics, pumping systems, spray foam and paint systems, diesel engines, cranes and hoists

Our Equipment Engineer will:

  • Finalize delivery, installation, and startup of existing open equipment orders
  • Startup and commission new equipment to ensure operations meet specifications
  • Establish processes and procedures to allow trained operators to operate equipment to maintain throughout yield, safety and reliability objectives
  • Train associates and production managers on equipment operation
  • Ensure consistent plant equipment operation with industry standard downtime (OEE)
  • Develop equipment maintenance schedule, including establishment of maintenance spare parts inventory and O&M manual directory
  • Perform or oversee routine preventative maintenance and oversee service calls on manufacturing equipment as needed
  • Work closely with process engineers to understand equipment interactions and limitations relative to operating specifications
  • Perform regular equipment checks, calibrations and characterization
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc.
  • Assume ownership of maintaining and calibrating production tools in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications
