Connect Housing Blocks is currently searching for a full-time Manufacturing Designer to join their team in Columbus, Ohio.  We are revolutionizing the housing industry, manufacturing multi-story, prefabricated modular apartment housing in Columbus, Ohio, by providing high-quality affordable housing. The Manufacturing Designer is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest level of product quality.

  • Pay: $60,000 – $70,000/year, offer dependent on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • In office

The right candidate will have:

  • Minimum associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, CAD Design, or manufacturing required
  • Two years or more experience in Building Information Modeling concepts and strategies required
  • Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with vendors, management, co-workers in English
  • Spanish proficiency preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing software tools, preferred
  • Experience with machine controls preferred. Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred

Our Manufacturing Designer will:

  • Read and interpret architectural drawings into constructable designs for manufacturing while following applicable building code and company design standards
  • Maintain drawings, layouts, and revisions in an established document library
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategies to increase manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process/manufacturing engineers and external architectural and engineering consultants, to ensure that products are manufacturable and meet production requirements
  • Promote and implements lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, improve workflow, and optimize resource utilization
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date manufacturing documentation
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with all relevant safety and regulatory standards
