Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
 
Embrace Hospice is currently accepting applications for Certified Nursing Assistants. The Hospice CNA is to provide supportive services to patients and/or residents whose health status is unstable.  They provide routine activities or daily living, nursing care, and emotional support in accordance with the patients’ needs, the comprehensive plan of care, and as directed by the supervisor.  Responsibilities include provision of temporary relief for the primary caregiver.  The CNA is liable for carrying-out the duties assigned in order to increase the level of comfort and to maintain personal hygiene and a safe, healthy environment for the patient and/or resident.
 
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
  • Must be able to handle moderate noise and exposure to blood borne pathogens requiring use of personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate appropriately and clearly to patients, family members, staff, physicians, etc. 
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.
  • Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must have ability to remain calm, efficient, and effective in emergency situations.
NECESSARY SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES and REQUIREMENTS
  • Current CNA license in good standing.
  • Previous experience in hospice and/or related healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Should demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Team player with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, and other places.
  • Understand hospice philosophy and issues of death and dying.
  • Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and withstand unlimited sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving during working hours to assist with lifting, transporting, and supporting residents and ensuring patient safety.
