Systems Engineer

Embrace Hospice is currently looking for a Systems Engineer who will based out of the Conway, SC facility. The Systems Engineer will provide business knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, evaluate products and provide superior level of technical support that benefits the company.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
A successful Systems Engineer will be able to perform these essential duties and responsibilities.

• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new network hardware and software.
• Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
• Troubleshoots at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices, at the logical level working with communication protocols.
• Participates in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
• Maintain network infrastructure.
• Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
• Utilize superior customer service skills.
• Daily updates to immediate supervisor of daily activities and project status.
• Must be available during normal work hours (unless previously approved by direct supervisor).
• Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.
• Perform others duties as requested or required, at the sole discretion of Embrace.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS
The Systems Engineer must maintain effective communication by phone, email or in person. You must demonstrate the ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and work with various customers and management levels. You must also demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion. This position requires the ability to function with minimal supervision and to be responsible for own work in completing tasks in accordance with Embrace policies and procedures.

• High school diploma required with higher education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Basic computer knowledge required with advanced computer knowledge preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver innovative solutions.
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, general math skills. Ability to read and communicate effectively with strong written and verbal skills.
• Meticulous, detailed, well-organized and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Team player with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, and other places.
• Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.
• Must be able to withstand reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; walking and standing for periods of time; lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
