The main objective of the Director of Reservations is to improve profits by increasing room revenue and sales through third party and direct bookings. The Director will lead the daily operations of the Vacation Planning Center (VPC-reservations Department) , ensuring outstanding customer service, enforcement of hotel policies and procedures and use of proper selling techniques designed to enhance overall hotel revenue and overall optimization of the reservations staff and all resources. This position oversees the reservations office for all current BMC properties.

What else can you expect?

• Lead the Reservations Manager, Supervisor and Reservation Sales Agents in the sales effort to meet budget expectations
• Oversee full utilization of NAVIS (reservations sales software) in all VPC functions
• Hire and train new agents, while providing ongoing reviews and assuring optimum performance
• Ensure data quality input into both NAVIS and PMS
• Review data daily, weekly and monthly to assure maximum performance of team
• Stay informed on existing demand and pricing dynamics, while communicating opportunities for yield management to DORM
• Coordinate with Front Office, Accounting and other departments on reservation related processes
• Develop weekly schedule, as well as approve bi-weekly payroll and PTO requests
• Oversee the monitoring of agent sales calls and coaching of agents
• Control all VPC related expenses and maintains costs in line with budget.
• Professionally represent the hotel by participating in client and industry functions (pre-convention meetings, guest receptions, industry events, etc.)
• Collaborate as a team player with all departments
• Provide constructive feedback to all departments

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• An optimistic, ambitious, determined and inspiring personality
• 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in hospitality
• Remote agent concept knowledge a plus
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• NAVIS and/or SMS Host experience preferred
• Working knowledge of competitive hotels is a plus
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Math skills required; budgetary analysis capabilities helpful
