Pink Shell is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Inspector to oversee the day-to-day operations concerning cleanliness and hygiene standards in the guest rooms as well as monitoring staff while ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained to BMC, local, state, and federally mandated requirements. Hours for this position are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, and you will need flexible availability to include some weekends and holidays.

What are we looking for?

• We are looking for an individual who can speak and write in both English and Creole
• Has previous experience working with a multicultural staff
• 3 + years’ guest room housekeeping experience required, preferably in a luxury hospitality environment
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Must have basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel)
• Physical ability and stamina to walk up and down the stairs
• Has flexibility and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and Holidays

What would my job responsibilities be?

• Assigns housekeepers their duties and inspects work for compliance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
• Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and takes corrective action.
• Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
• Acts as a liaison with Cleanliness Compliance Director to assure compliance to government orders, guidelines and health advisories on COVID-19 and other health risks.
• Coordinates work activities among departments.
• Assists in conducting orientation training, in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use, as well as maintenance of equipment.
• Works with Executive Housekeeper to maintain par stock of cleaning supplies by assisting with inventories to ensure adequate supplies.
• Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
• Examines guest rooms and the resort as a whole to determine the need for repairs/replacement of furniture or equipment, as well as makes recommendations to management.
• Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and guest’s complaints.
• Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
• Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
• Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
