Position Overview

Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina seeks a Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and for delivering excellent customer service; consistent with strong attention to detail and anticipation of guests needs. The Food & Beverage Manager must be a team player, personable, professional, and takes pride in building long-lasting relationships. Must be able to lead team members positively and train them on how to provide exceptional service to our guests.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train all associates in the restaurant on how to perform their job duties
  • Schedule, evaluate, and direct all staff
  • Ensure open communication between management and associates
  • Participate in weekly, monthly department meetings and M.O.D program
  • Assure prompt and professional service to all customers
  • Solicit feedback from guests concerning food, beverages, service and improvement ideas
  • Advise Food and Beverage Director of daily problems and needs
  • Utilize all available resources to maximize profits, develop quality service and reduce cost
  • Ensure all paperwork needed by other departments is provided
  • Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation
  • Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse).
  • Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves
  • Interview potential applicants when needed
  • Complete personnel paperwork, all restaurant reviews, hires, job transfers, warning notices, counseling sessions and terminations
  • Evaluate staff performance on a ninety (90) day and annual basis in a timely manner

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Restaurant Management experience required. Previous experience in a resort, hotel, or fine dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and knowledge of standard restaurant and bar operations technology, i.e., MICRO System
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to multitask and think quickly when under pressure
  • Must be able to calculate sales, expense, and profit of the department
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30+ pounds
  • Must be able to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for longs period of time
  • Ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
  • Must have a flexible schedule including weekend and holidays
